New Haven Rugby Club has a proud tradition of welcoming all comers to the squad. We welcome the young, old, short, tall, skinny, fat and if you are an amazing athlete I guess we will take you also. Our only requirements are that you have a sense of humor (you must be able to laugh at yourself), you have a desire to learn (even our most experienced players learn every day) and you have to be interested in joining a group of guys that treat each other like family (the good and bad) and expect the same out of their new players.

We have two teams that play every weekend during the fall (A and B). The A side team is a highly competitive squad made up of players from all over the World. We currently field a team with players from Connecticut , Massachusetts , Pennsylvania , California , Samoa , Tonga, Australia , New Zealand , South Africa and various other states around the US . The A grade has won a DII National title in 2002 and has made consecutive trips to the DI national playoffs culminating in trips to the National DI sweet 16's in 2004, 2006 and 2007.

Our B side squad serves as a feeder program for our A side and consists of our younger players, old boys giving our team a boost and our social members. Our B team will take on our opponents B-side during the fall and play as many games as possible during the spring while providing support during the playoffs for the A side.

OK enough talking if you want to join the club either come down to practice, send one of our officers an email or come down to The Playwright and join us for a beer. It is really that simple.

If you wish to obtain additional information or are interested in being recruited by the New Haven Old Black, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.
