New Haven Rugby is a charitable 501(c) 3 organization that is able to
operate because of the many generous people and organizations that believe
in the club and the benefits that we bring to the State of Connecticut. We
pride ourselves in being a positive part of the community and show that
pride by taking part in a conducting events that promote the State of
Connecticut and the Greater New Haven area. We have taken part in the
various runs and walks that benefit local charities, painted local schools,
run youth rugby events and co-sponsored international rugby matches.
The team not only operates because of the generous support of local
companies but also because of the support of the team member's friends and
family. We run raffles and events to generate some of this support, but on
occasion we receive donations on a whim. We realize that some times the
families and friends of players do not fully understand the reason that the
players continue to play and actually pay to play a sport that inevitably
causes some physical pain.
The answer lies in the photo gallery. Like all athletes most everyone here
enjoys competition, but take a closer look at the happiness on the faces of
the players both during and after the game. With the world full of
dispersed families and friends due to a myriad of reasons the team will
always provide a family like atmosphere and support system for all comers.
